Dahietna: Prololgue - Genesis

(Prologue) -- Visit http://dahietna.blogspot.com

Dahietna: our Dahieh (suburb); colloquial Lebanese Arabic

In a country riveting with chaos, no real solutions at the door, turmoil and warring factions eagerly wait for the counter attack, but Dahietna is far from that, it tackles us, our relationships, what we face, not something created by our leaders as opium for our minds. Dahietna is our reality whether positive or negative, it showcases the true us, whether we like it or not. It goes as deep as the dark secrets we hold back, and as high as our happiest most gracious moments. The road twists and turns as we follow our main characters: Mariana, Mahran, Batoul, Malek, Ali, and Zeina in a brief of what their life has to offer, and we discover that we are all linked by some line that we don’t see…

Mariana: Her life torn by torment since early childhood, never knew a good time till she met who she thought was going to be her savior from her dark life, insecure and agitated she leads a life of depression and suicidal urges.

Mahran: A guy with a lot of potential torn apart by what his surrounding wants him to be, and what he really wants to be, his peer pressure is so high that it kills the energy within him, here we witness Mahran takin the choices, either to become what he wants or bury whatever is left of his energy under the soil.

Malek: A significantly talented individual, highly skilled in many fields or art, yet he has a life which he has devoted himself to, lost between these two worlds he tries to find amends.

Batoul: With failed love attempts, she tries to muster all what she could so that she can live with sanity, already building a list of do’s and don’ts she moves on with her life awaiting what she might face it to grow stronger.

Ali: A successful young man with a very dark secret hidden deep within him, always struggling not to become what he fears the most, we witness either the birth of a new man, or an entirely self destructing force.

Zeina: Your everyday perfectionist, always hoping for the best, while struggling with her own flaws, she’s been aiming to be her personal number one on her own race with herself. Will she get what she wants? Or fall into the infinite loop that will make her will crumble?

Here are the key players of “Dahietna” join us weekly with 1 edition of this twisted spin of reality on the most scrutinized area in Lebanon…

Sincerely yours
Hadi M.M. Chatila

The urge to write

For the past month or so, I've been having these uncontrollable  urges to write. I was going to dwell on a story I had been working on for some time.. a somewhat complex story with intriguing characters.. but due to a regional situation I refrained for the time being to go to the publishing side of things. Now i am venturing on a new road, this time a collection of short stories ... with a seriously new topic..  it might be humanitarian.. but these stories haven't been told yet.. and I plan to set them free.

wish me luck :)

Spellbound HeDzZ

In an insignificant spec of cosmic dust, found in the Milky way, called  Earth, On the Asian continent, in the ever-so disputed lands of the middle-east, Hadi Chatila was born.

I was born on the fourth of may 1984 at around 5:30 in the afternoon. The agonizing screams that were released by my feeble throat signaled my staged entrance to the play called “Hadi’s Life”.

My life (up till now) was a bunch of really amazing coincidences, which led me to my current major and mode of life. It led me to my spellbound passion, Graphic Design. Out of all the majors I was drawn to I ended up in this being the far most “awe-inspiring”, “spine-Tantalizing” and relaxing road I’ve ever chosen to tread on.

Graphic design is firmly linked in almost all aspects of modern human life. You look around, all that u see is graphical buildings, cars, billboards, neon signs, street signs, and people… WHY AM I EXPLAINING?!? Isn’t our life set by our perception? Perception that is stimulated by sight and imagination (based on sight) - an exception to visually challenged or blind people.

There isn’t a day that passes, which you don’t get to read a magazine, flip its pages, and critique its look and the message it conveys.

Let us say you don’t read, you surely watch TV? Surf the web? Or at least use a p.c. Graphic design is in all these categories.

Then you have English, then it’s an element which has a symbiotic relation with the designer similar aesthetic feelings and vast perception. If that symbiotic relation fails in any of the above elements the designer fails to convey his message and degrades it.

Back to ME!!!!! And my relation with Graphic Design, English, and Music. I find that from the second I screamed my way into this life, I was put here to do something that is both Visually and Audibly (musically or lyrically) stunning, so Graphics and English, as well as music, are a major part in my survival kit to attaining my divine written role or path.

There you have it, a brief look into me, or as my friend’s would call me:

Fusion

All those who have seen my MSN nick for the past week or so, have been ever constantly wanting to know what Fusion is...

Well here goes the brief:

Fusion: a Program about art in all its aspect and how its fused in modern day culture especially the east (where i am) and Islam (My faith) all in an artistic package of critique and some humor.

The program will be 15 min tops.. every week around the year Inshallah. Tackling Fresh Artistic topics (music, graphics, exhibitions -- U name it.. and some times figures from the M.E area... ) all fused with their relation to Faith and how Faith affects or effects them..

I hope by this step i can show.. how seriously grave and empowering faith can be.. if Understood and used properly...

Inshalla I'm endowed with the proper force to present this.

Until the first episode i ask for your prayers.

Yours Hadi Chatila
